Global Cultural Immersion Program 2026 at Namu Island: A Collaborative Experience with International Students from UM Kendari, IAIN Kendari, and Faculty Delegation from CMBT NEUST, Philippines
The Global Cultural Immersion Program 2026 held at Namu Island on April 22–23, 2026, became a meaningful international collaboration experience involving students from Universitas Muhammadiyah Kendari, IAIN Kendari, and faculty delegates from CMBT NEUST, Philippines. The program was designed to strengthen international friendship, cultural understanding, and academic collaboration through various engaging activities in a natural and multicultural environment.
Throughout the program, participants took part in many exciting and educational activities such as island exploration, where they discovered the beauty and uniqueness of Namu Island while building teamwork and communication among participants from different countries and backgrounds. The delegates also joined an Academic Sharing Session to exchange ideas, experiences, and perspectives related to education, culture, and student life.
One of the most memorable moments of the program was the Cultural Night, where participants introduced their cultures, traditional performances, music, and cultural values, creating an atmosphere of unity and appreciation for diversity. In addition, the participants enjoyed a Cooking Class featuring local traditional food, allowing international guests to experience Indonesian culinary culture directly.
To complete the immersive experience, participants also enjoyed outdoor activities including diving and swimming, creating unforgettable memories while experiencing the natural beauty of Namu Island together.
This program reflects the spirit of global collaboration, intercultural exchange, and international friendship, while also supporting the commitment of UM Kendari toward internationalization and global engagement in higher education.
