International students from Muhammadiyah University (UM) Kendari participated in the Iftar Dinner on Bokori Island, organized by the Southeast Sulawesi Tourism Office on March 7, 2026. The event took place in the Bokori Island tourist area, known for its beautiful white-sand beaches and ocean views.

The event was attended by the Head of the Southeast Sulawesi Tourism Office, Dr. M. Ridwan Badallah. In his remarks, he stated that this event served not only as an opportunity to break the fast together but also as a platform to promote regional tourism to the general public, including international students currently studying in Kendari.

The participation of international students from UM Kendari was a major highlight of this event. They had the opportunity to experience firsthand the atmosphere of Ramadan in Indonesia, particularly in Southeast Sulawesi, while also gaining a deeper understanding of the local culture and the region’s tourism potential. The interactions between the international students and the local community fostered a warm and welcoming atmosphere of togetherness.

The Southeast Sulawesi Tourism Office hopes that activities like this can be held regularly to boost tourism appeal and strengthen cross-cultural ties. With the holding of this event, it is hoped that Bokori Island will become increasingly known not only nationally but also internationally, through the firsthand experiences shared by UM Kendari’s international students with the world.
