From Kendari to Korea: Najwah As’Ad Embarks on a Double Degree Journey in Hotel Management at Kyungdong University (2026–2028)
Exciting news comes from Muhammadiyah University of Kendari. Najwah As’Ad, a student in the English Language Education Program, has officially departed for Kyungdong University in South Korea to pursue a double degree program in hotel management for the 2026–2028 academic year.
Najwah’s departure on March 4, 2025, was marked by deep emotion and pride from the university. This program is part of an international collaboration between UM Kendari and Kyungdong University to enhance educational quality and broaden students’ global perspectives.
Najwah As’Ad was selected after undergoing a rigorous screening process, both academically and in terms of English proficiency. Her participation in this double degree program is expected to provide her with international learning experiences while enhancing her competencies in the field of hospitality management.
UM Kendari expressed its appreciation and full support for Najwah’s departure. They hope that this achievement will inspire other students to continue excelling and to boldly seize opportunities on the international stage.
While participating in the program in South Korea, Najwah will take courses that combine theory and practice in the field of hotel management and will have the opportunity to experience global culture and education systems firsthand.
Through this program, it is hoped that the partnership between UM Kendari and Kyungdong University will grow stronger and produce graduates who are competitive, professional, and ready to compete at the international level.
