KENDARI – Universitas Muhammadiyah (UM) Kendari continues to demonstrate its commitment to building an inclusive and globally oriented campus ecosystem. This was highlighted by the active participation of international students in the "Kendari Couture" event, organized through a strategic collaboration between UM Kendari and the American Indonesian Exchange Foundation (AMINEF) on Wednesday (01/28) at the UM Kendari Auditorium.

The involvement of these international students was more than just attendance; it is part of the university's ongoing efforts to enrich cross-cultural experiences and foster positive interactions within both academic and social environments.

A Space for Collaboration and Cultural Immersion

The Kendari Couture event provided international students with a dedicated space to mingle and gain a deeper understanding of local cultural heritage. They participated actively in various collaborative agendas that brought together academic elements and various sectors of society.

"This activity provides an opportunity for international students to directly experience the cultural heartbeat of Kendari. We want them to not only learn formally in the classroom but also to become an integral part of the social and cultural dynamics here," stated the team from the Directorate of Cooperation and Internationalization (DKI) UM Kendari.

Commitment to Global Inclusivity

The event, held in partnership with AMINEF, is a clear reflection of UM Kendari's vision to create an open and welcoming campus environment. By providing platforms like Kendari Couture, the university strives to bridge the gap between different nations through the medium of art and fashion.

The university hopes that this participation provides meaningful emotional and intellectual experiences for the international students. Furthermore, the event is expected to strengthen the values of togetherness and solidify sustainable cross-cultural collaboration within the university.

Heading Towards an Internationalized Campus

Participation in Kendari Couture marks a significant milestone in UM Kendari's internationalization agenda this year. With the support of international partners like AMINEF, UM Kendari remains optimistic about increasing the campus's appeal to foreign students while introducing local identity to the international stage.

The vibrant event concluded with a networking session, showcasing the warm camaraderie between local students, international students, and invited guests from diverse backgrounds.
