UM Kendari Visits Indonesian Consulate General in Vietnam to Strengthen International Partnerships.
Muhammadiyah University of Kendari (UM Kendari) conducted an official visit to the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia (KJRI) in Vietnam on Tuesday (January 14, 2026). The visit was part of the university’s strategic efforts to strengthen institutional communication and expand its international cooperation network.
During the visit, the rector and several leaders of UM Kendari were officially welcomed by the leadership of the Indonesian Consulate General in Vietnam. The meeting was held in a warm and collaborative atmosphere, focusing on discussions about potential cooperation in education, research, community service, and strengthening the role of Indonesian higher education institutions on the global stage.
The Rector of UM Kendari stated that the visit represents an important step in supporting the university’s vision of internationalization. Through collaboration with Indonesian diplomatic representatives abroad, UM Kendari aims to open wider opportunities for academic cooperation, including student and lecturer exchange programs as well as joint research with institutions in Vietnam and the Southeast Asian region.
Meanwhile, the Indonesian Consulate General in Vietnam welcomed UM Kendari’s initiative and expressed its support for Indonesian universities seeking to expand their international networks. The Consulate also encouraged the establishment of concrete collaborations that can provide mutual benefits, particularly in the development of human resources and the promotion of Indonesian higher education internationally.
The official visit is expected to serve as the beginning of sustainable cooperation between UM Kendari and various international partners, while further strengthening the university’s role as a globally competitive higher education institution that actively contributes to Indonesia’s educational diplomacy.
